KELLIE STROUD
Raised in Colusa, Kellie discovered at a very young age she had a passion for music and singing. She credits her father, David, for her natural talent as she has countless memories of him singing old mo-town hits like Sam Cook and other greats. Along with her father, Kellie's musical influences have been artist's such as Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, Carole King, The Eagles and James Taylor to name a few. Although it was not until later in life that Kellie finally had an opportunity to share her voice with larger audiences, she was happy for any chance to perform. Most of her work prior to Highway 20 Band included singing at private parties and weddings. She also continues to work on her other passion, song writing. Kellie was very excited about the opportunity to round out the cast of characters now known as the Highway 20 Band. The band's country-southern rock sound mixes well with her vocal range and tambourine shaking! |

GENE MCKASSON
Gene was born and raised in Colusa. He was heavily influenced by his father, Dan, who sang and played the guitar. Also his mother Joyce who sang since Gene could remember. At the age of 9 he picked up his father's guitar while staying home sick from school one day. He taught himself to play. Gene and Chuck started playing together in Chuck's garage and formed their first band "Rampage". This band didn't go far but was a building block for many different bands to come. In the US Air Force Gene played Bass guitar in a rock band named "Outta Control". Gene has followed his musical ambition throughout the years playing for weddings, private parties, on bar stools and next to many camp fires. Around January of 2005, Gene got the music bug again and decided to try to put together another band. With limited number of musicians in the Colusa area, he knew he had his work cut out for him. With a little hard work and determination, Highway 20 was born. When he can find the time, Gene likes to Abalone dive, fish, fly R/C airplanes and is a die hard Oakland Raider fan. His musical influences include Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Travis Tritt, Clint Black, The Eagles, Alan Jackson, James Taylor, KISS and many more. |
CHUCK COMFORT
Chuck was raised in Colusa County. He knew his passion for percussion before he could walk via pots, pans and wooden spoons. Chuck's musical influences include Kiss, Rush and Ronnie James Dio. His first band was started at the age of ten. They were called "Rampage" and they practiced in his mom and dad's garage. Once he got into High School, he played with buddies in a band they named "Kruger". After High School he joined "Cascade", next was "Big Johnson", "Persona Non Gratta"and then "Lenny and the Lounge Lizards". After that he put his drums in storage until his wife told him, "Dust those drums off and go for it!"
The rest is Highway 20.
Thank you Babe.
